Your Port Chester Snapshot was formerly known as "pcnyonline.com," which was owned and operated by Daniel Brakewood. The demands of parenting two young children and working a fulltime job prevented Daniel from being able to maintain the website. He retired the website in June 2001. In early January 2005, Daniel transferred pcnyonline.com to Gino J. Piazza. Gino now solely owns and operates the website. As noted, pcnyonline.com now sports the name yourportchestersnapshot.com to reflect its new ownership. Gino also owns and operates the web promotion business named Advanced Promotions.
Please allow me to introduce myself.
In December of 1972, I suffered a stroke which confined me to a wheelchair. The stroke left me paralyzed on my right side and I lost my ability to speak. I am glad to say that my sense of hearing was left intact and is perfect. I communicate by writing, typing, and some finger spelling.
After six long years of physical rehabilitation, I pursued my high school and college studies with the determination to succeed. I received tutoring at the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains and earned a Port Chester high school equivalency diploma. I then continued my studies at the Westchester Community College and Iona College. I earned a degree in Data Processing from Westchester Community College. Unfortunately, I was unable to finish a planned Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Iona College due to a lack of funding. My studies in computers led me to purchase an Apple II personal computer in 1980, a Macintosh SE in 1987, and a Macintosh Quadra 800 in 1992. I have since upgraded to a Power Mac G4 500. Since graduating from college, I have become a computerphile.
I was the Co-System Operator of a Macintosh bulletin board system based in Rye in 1990. I was a member of the (now disbanded) Westchester Macintosh Users Group (WestMUG). As a member of WestMUG, I was in the company of members who exchanged information and insight regarding the hardware and software of the industry. This computer technology and software knowledge has allowed me to recommend components and set up working systems for Macintosh users.
